Function | FUNCTION: Converts retinaldehyde to retinoic acid (PubMed:29240402). Recognizes as substrates free retinal and cellular retinol-binding protein-bound retinal. Can metabolize octanal and decanal, but has only very low activity with benzaldehyde, acetaldehyde and propanal.
